The north suburbs are a complex of municipalities on the northern and northeastern residential side of Athens. These municipalities are famous for the large open spaces, green areas and the efforts made to preserve their natural beauty. Moreover, these regions enacted the institution of recycling in 2000, and utilized EU funds for the construction of traffic-calmed roads and footpaths. The most expensive area of the complex is Psychiko (with 4,450 euro / sq.m.), followed by Philothei, Ekali, Kifissia, New Eritrea and New Psihiko. Concerning commercial properties, Kefalari in Kifissia seems to be the most expensive area because it attracts touristic and commercial interest.
